Messe Berlin studio becomes a playground for virtual and hybrid events

Messe Berlin is expanding its services. With the Messe Berlin studio it is offering its customers a multi-purpose TV studio as an ideal platform for virtual and hybrid event formats. This service targets companies, exhibitors and organisations that want to record and livestream events on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. An experienced team of technicians, camera operators and directors is available to provide support, from consultation through to realising and broadcasting, ensuring everything goes to plan.

Covering an area of more than 1,200 m², the Messe Berlin studio in Hall 7.1 offers ample space for a range of studio settings and for staging productions. Decorative installations provide a backdrop that can be tailored to individual needs. Even the studio’s basic equipment features ultra-modern camera technology, sound engineering and video directing systems. Regardless of whether your audience is one thousand or tens of thousands, high-performance livestreaming software ensures your virtual experience features the best quality and that it can be uploaded easily onto any video or social media platform. Work is currently taking place on an innovative pop-up concept that will allow studio-quality livestreaming to no longer be confined to Hall 7.1. The pop-up studio can function anywhere on the entire exhibition grounds, wherever the customer is planning an event.

”For trade fairs and congresses the focus will always be on an in-person event. That still goes hand in hand with a virtual experience. For us, being able to flexibly offer digital services on the entire grounds represents an important part of our ‘Messe plus’ event concept“, said Martin Ecknig, CEO of Messe Berlin.

Dr. Ralf Kleinhenz, senior vice president, added: ”Never before have there been so many opportunities to follow a virtual event – on any device, platform, live or on demand. The Messe Berlin studio is the ideal playground for our customers.“

The studio was launched in January at the virtual International Green Week (IGW Digital). At this year’s edition of the International Green Week, live broadcasting took place on two days from the Messe Berlin Studio for the first time. Events included the IGW-Talk moderated by Judith Rakers, whose guest was Minister Julia Klöckner, and the IGW Startup Days, during which startups from around Germany took part in live web conferences. The Messe Berlin studio will also be used for productions at the forthcoming ITB Berlin NOW, which will take place from 9 to 12 March as an entirely virtual event.
