bautec is to be terminated
bautec, the international trade fair for building and construction technology, is to be terminated as it is no longer economically viable. The last bautec took place from 18 to 21 February 2020 and in future will no longer be held.
“In recent years, bautec’s profitability no longer reached the necessary levels. Despite the strong commitment of our long-standing partners and sponsors and the outstanding efforts of our colleagues at Messe Berlin in raising the standards of the fair, we were unfortunately unable to achieve the economic results we had hoped for and required“, said Karel Heijs, director of Life Sciences at Messe Berlin.
“We deeply regret this decision. Since bautec is unlikely to achieve substantially better results next year we believe the decision is understandable in these economically challenging times. On behalf of the bautec team I would like to thank our partners, exhibitors and visitors for the many years of support and cooperation, productive dialogue and their positive contributions to the event.”
The International Trade Fair for Building and Construction Technology was organised by Messe Berlin and took place every two years. From 18 to 21 February 2020, 451 exhibitors from 18 countries showcased the latest building and construction technology trends and developments on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. Over 31,000 trade visitors attended last year’s event. Among its unique selling points was a comprehensive approach towards buildings, from the basement to the roof, including the infrastructure. The programme of bautec was rounded off by GRÜNBAU BERLIN and up#Berlin.
