• Display area grows by 16 per cent
• 77 per cent rise in visitor registrations
• New organisers present new seminar and speaker programme
• World’s largest trade fair for coil winding, insulation and electrical manufacturing from 4 to 6 June in Berlin
Berlin, 24 May 2013 – The world’s largest trade fair for coil winding, insulation and electrical manufacturing is setting new standards. From 4 to 6 June 2013 797 exhibitors from over 40 countries are expected to attend CWIEME Berlin. Here, on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, they will be exhibiting their latest products in five halls, on an area 16 per cent larger than at last year’s event.
Over a period of three days trade visitors can find out about electromagnetic insulation materials, coils, electric motors and transformers, as well as manufacturing and repairs. The free seminar programme will provide them with an opportunity to meet leading industry experts, decision-makers and inventors and exchange views on interesting products and the latest manufacturing methods.
Already in its seventeenth year, this year’s CWIEME is being organised for the first time by the i2i Events Group (London). Gregor Bischkopf, the business director of i2i Events, noted how well preparations have been going: “Visitor registrations have risen by 77 per cent, which means that attendance at this year’s CWIEME Berlin will increase by one thousand.“
According to the organisers, the specialist supporting programme is one reason why more people are expressing interest in CWIEME Berlin, and this has led to the display area being enlarged. “We have put together a completely new seminar programme comprising numerous conferences and workshops“, said Bischkopf. They include keynote sessions with leading experts such as Dr. Thomas Hueck, chief economist of Robert Bosch GmbH, and Kai Oliver Kölmel, vice-president of the Hydro & Ocean Power Division of Siemens AG, who will be providing visitors with an insight into forward-looking industry trends.
A new series of seminars will focus on strategic procurement and will be taking place against the backdrop of current challenges facing Europe’s economies and competition for resources.
Half-hour showcases will provide manufacturers with information on the latest and best market technologies and manufacturing processes as well as on up-to-the-minute research findings and production developments. On Tuesday, 4 June, visitors will be able to benefit directly from the knowledge provided by experts at four workshops. These will be taking a close look at the latest designs, trends and technologies used to manufacture wind turbines, tidal power, turbo and hydro generators and propulsion motors.
17 years of continuous growth have transformed CWIEME into the largest trade fair and conference on coil winding, insulation and electrical manufacturing. CWIEME Berlin has a vast international appeal, with additional sister shows in Chicago, Shanghai and Bangalore. Gregor Bischkopf of i2i Events: “Geographically speaking, we have diversified in order to integrate more exhibitors from countries whose importance for this industry is set to increase. That applies in particular to North America.” The trade fair in Berlin also leads the way in terms of international attendance. Last year, 60 per cent of visitors came from abroad and that figure is set to increase.
