CityCube Berlin sets the tone, on and off the web

• CityCube Berlin to host events from early 2014

Berlin, 22 May 2012 – While construction continues apace at the excavation pit of the CityCube Berlin, work on another ”building site“ has now finished. As of today, Tuesday 22 May, the website at is online. Visitors to this site can find out all the important information and everything they need to know about the German capital’s new venue for trade fairs, conferences and events.

Dr. Ralf Kleinhenz , Division Head, Congresses and Guest Events, Messe Berlin: “In future, we will be documenting the construction phases at the CityCube Berlin on this website. Worldwide, customers in the conference and trade fair business are keen to learn more about progress on this new fair hall, which will also be hosting conferences. The next stage is the foundation laying ceremony on 5 July, which means we are absolutely on time.“

The website also introduces the logo of the new event venue. The wordmark and logo combine the CityCube Berlin signature with a stylised side-on view of a cube. The new logo takes the Messe Berlin brand one step further and is part of a newly designed range of logos. The website also shows how this theme is being used in various ways as part of the communications strategy. Visitors can also take a virtual tour of the building, and by clicking on an animated video can literally fly into the CityCube Berlin.

The new communications campaign for the CityCube Berlin will premiere at IMEX 2012. Germany’s leading exhibition for meetings & incentive travel will take place in Frankfurt/Main from 22 to 24 May.

Designed by Dresden-based architects CODE UNIQUE, this hall, which will also host conferences, is due for completion in late 2013. Events will be held here as of spring 2014.

Expanding the grounds has become necessary in order to continue normal trade fair operations. The increasing demand for space, in particular by leading trade fairs, can no longer be satisfied on the existing grounds. The CityCube Berlin also makes it possible to carry out restoration work on the ICC Berlin and to conduct congress business at current levels.
